Scattered showers remain in SoCal Friday as powerful storm leaves region

LOS ANGELES (KABC) — The remnants of a powerful storm that slammed Southern California are lingering into Friday, but a storm system’s heaviest rain has moved out of the region.

Scattered showers are expected throughout Friday morning, and sunshine could start breaking through in the afternoon.

By the time the storm exits the area Friday, roughly 1 to 3 inches of rain are expected in most coastal and valley areas, with 3 to 6 inches anticipated in the foothills and mountains. By Friday afternoon, more than 3 inches of rain is expected in Altadena and just over 1.5 inches will have fallen in the Pacific Palisades.

Things will start to dry out heading into the weekend. Saturday and Sunday with be partly sunny and cool temperatures are on tap.

Friday weather

Los Angeles and Orange counties Friday will reach a high of 61 degrees and a low of 49. Expect 1/4 – 1/2 inch of rain.

The valleys and Inland Empire can expect 1/4 – 3/4 inch of rain. Temperatures will reach a high of 62 and a low of 45.

Beaches will see morning rain, along with a high of 59 degrees and a low of 49. Waves of 6-12 feet are expected.

Mountains can expect a high of 38 and a low of 24. There will be snow at elevations of 6,500 feet.

Deserts will see a high of 57 and a low of 43. Showers will linger in the area.
